8 Reasons I'm A Dog Person

I'm sure you've been asked at least once in your life, "are you a dog or cat person?" Well if you answered dog this one is for you (and if not, give this article a good read).

1. They're man's best friend.

Dogs are the most loyal pet a person could have and will always be there for you weather its waiting for you to return or just sleeping in your bed every night. The expression man's best friend was created for a reason, and it's not about cats.

2. They're always happy to see you.

The second you walk in the door BAM! Your dog will be there, smiling, waiting to greet you. If you have a dog, you know that they always make you feel welcome the minute you get home.

3. They are up for anything.

Put a dog's leash on, and they're ready to roll. Park? Walk? Pool? Hike? You name it and a dog will be right by your side the whole time, happy as can be.

4. They make you feel better.

If you've ever cried in front of a dog you know that is impossible. The second they sense that you are sad, they will coat you with endless kisses until they see you smile.

5. They're cute.

I really don't think this needs explanation- have you seen them?

6. They're the best cuddle buddies.

Nap time, night time, anytime, your dog will be willing to cuddle with you and without a doubt is the best cuddle buddy there is.

7. They love you unconditionally.

No matter how many hours you're gone, what mistakes you've made, your dog will love you no matter what.

8. They protect you.

They will bark at anything they find threatening, little noises, or when they want your attention. Dogs always have your back and are looking out for you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
