If you were to ask me to name a singer who not only exudes talent, but also actively pursues a life of empowering women, you best believe I will say Demi Lovato. From her Camp Rock days to her hot new album, Demi has been slaying the lives of all of us for quite some time.To say I am obsessed would be a serious understatement.

Thus, here are eight reasons you should join the Demi bandwagon:

1. She is a badass singer

I am sure many of us would agree that many singers in our generation are not so great when performing live. Of course, Yonce is excluded from this categorization. But Demi can also belt out an F#5 like she is breathing. The girl has got talent. Period.

2. She stays true to herself

She owns her mistakes and isn't afraid to be authentic in the midst of so much fakeness. Her laugh also brings so much joy to my life.

3. She sends a positive and empowering message to young women

She reminds women that they should not feel the pressure to look or act a certain way in order to feel accepted. She regularly posts make-up free videos and pictures to show that there is no shame in accepting your natural beauty. Overall, she makes a conscious effort to remind women that they are all beautiful and worthy of living.

4. She is an avid advocate for mental health

From Staying Strong to her new documentary Simply Complicated, she strives to be upfront with her fans and put herself in the most vulnerable positions. She even won the Artistic Award of Courage for her devotion to raise awareness for mental illness. She reminds us all that you can hit rock bottom and can come back.

5. She doesn't pretend to be perfect

Often times, we tend to view celebrities as perfect human beings. We see them as these idolized individuals that are always happy and never struggle with anything. Well, Demi refuses to have this image projected onto her. She is very vocal with her fans that she still has her rough days and insecurities. She has made numerous mistakes she wishes she could take back. But like all of us, she is still learning to navigate her life. She has been five years sober and actively striving to live a more honest, and authentic life.

6. She realizes that self-love is a process

In her documentary Simply Complicated, Demi reveals the struggles of what it took for her to truly come to love herself. From eating disorders to drug addiction, Demi has been able to overcome much of what constituted her teenage years. She reminds us all that self-love does not happen overnight. It is a journey. One that is not easy, yet so rewarding.

7. Body positivity

Her skincare and new Fabletics line are only a glimpse into just how much Demi strives to make women feel confident and sexy in their own skin. She is also a strong advocate for exercise as an outlet for releasing negativity, rather than solely for looks.

8. Embracing being sexy

She has come to love her own skin and not abide to societal expectations of what is beautiful. Also, she shows women that they should not be ashamed to be confident. In fact, she urges us to embrace it. In the words of Demi herself, "When I am comfortable in my own skin, I feel confident. When I feel confident, I feel sexy. And when I feel sexy, watch out". Same Demi same.

Overall, Demi Lovato will always be a star in my eyes. Her ability to stay strong, persevere, and rise above all her struggles is nothing less than inspiring. Thus, I will continue to have her new album on repeat. I will always search YouTube for her new live performances. And I will always be a loyal and determined fan. So, women everywhere, it is time we take Demi's message to heart and be #Confident.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
