8 Positive Thoughts To Get You Through This Semester

There is more to me than my academic achievements; they are not a reflection of my worth.

I am a big believer in the power of positive thinking. As school gets more hectic with all the deadlines and responsibilities, I find that I'm in desperate need of inspiration. It becomes a little taxing to ask everyone around me for uplifting words; but it's all too easy to slip into the habit of negative thinking.

I've been trying a practice referred to as positive affirmations, wherein I combat my anxieties with small internal thoughts of encouragement. I've decided to write down a few of these thoughts, for myself and for you.

1. I am doing my best, and that deserves my respect.

2. Even if my work isn't perfect, I am very proud of my effort.

3. If I can do this, I can do anything. And I CAN do this!

4. This is difficult now, but it will make me stronger for tomorrow.

5. Success shouldn't come at the expense of my self love and internal joy.

6. There is more to me than my academic achievements; they are not a reflection of my worth.

7. No matter the grade, I am a good person who deserves happiness.

8. This suffering is only temporary; and I can make it better with a hopeful outlook.

America's biggest party schools

These are known for their lively party scenes

America's biggest party schools
Determining which schools are the biggest party schools is often subjective, but a some statistical factors you could use to make a judgement include (1) consumption, (2) drug usage, (3) strong greek life presence, (4) campus police records etc.

When a student at Auburn was recently asked, she explained: "These schools usually have, like, a super vibrant social scene, lots of Greek life (like my amazing sorority, duh!), and tons of exciting events happening all the time. I mean, we're talking about tailgates, themed parties, mixers with fraternities, and just, like, so much fun. But don't get me wrong, we still, like, study and go to class and all that. It's just that at a party school, the social life and having a good time are, like, major priorities for students."

No Sex And Upstate New York

A modern-day reincarnation of Carrie Bradshaw's classic column

Around the age of 12, when I was deciding whether or not to be gay, Satan appeared on my left shoulder. “Ramsssey,” he said with that telltale lisp. “Come over to our side. We have crazy partiessss.” He made a strong case, bouncing up and down on my shoulder with six-pack abs and form-fitting Calvin Kleins. An angel popped up on the other shoulder and was going to warn me about something, but Satan interrupted- “Shut up, you crusty-ass bitch!’ The angel was pretty crusty. She disappeared, and from that moment forward I was gay.

Senior Year Is Here And I Am So Not Ready For It

I was you not that long ago. I was once an eager freshman, a searching sophomore, and a know-it-all junior. Now? Now I am a risk taker. Not the type that gets you in trouble with your parents, but the type that changes your future. Senior year is exciting. A lot of awesome things come along with being the top-dog of the school, but you, right now, are building the foundation for the next 4 years that you will spend in high school. I know you've heard it all. "Get involved", "You'll regret not going to prom", "You're going to miss this". As redundant as these seem, they're true. Although I am just at the beginning of my senior year, I am realizing how many lasts I am encountering.
