Every family is different in its own way.
However, it's not everyday that you see a family situation like mine. Most siblings have small age gaps between them, but my younger siblings and I have a 10-year age gap. It's because my parents divorced and my dad re-married and had his own children.
Let me tell you, it's quite a unique experience. If you have a large age gap with your siblings like I do, here are some things that you could probably relate to.
1. You work 2 jobs as the oldest sibling AND the babysitter.
Like you have anything better to do.
2. You have no choice but to watch the kid shows that they watch.
3. But then you realize that some shows are actually HILARIOUS!
This scene from Peppa Pig is a perfect example.
4. Whenever your family goes out to do something "fun"...
They really mean something fun that is for your younger siblings. So you are in that awkward situation where you have to decide if you want to act like a boring adult or be that older weirdo who actually enjoys doing what the little kids are doing.
5. Some strangers think that your siblings are your CHILDREN.
It is really awkward, especially when you are a teenager. Like, are people really accepting teen parents as a norm now? Or do I just look older?
6. You have TONS of videos of the funniest things that they've said.
Why not? It's hilarious!
7. They do not understand the importance of "me time".
As much as you can remember the frustration of having nobody to play with as a child, you just need some rest.
