1. Legally Blonde
Okay, so maybe getting into Harvard Law on a whim isn't the most realistic plan. However, it doesn't matter what anyone says, Elle Woods is the most amazing, kick ass character. She starts off trying to impress a guy and ends up proving to herself and everyone else that she really is so much better than him.
2. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
This movie is amazing; it's heartbreaking but honestly touches everyone who watches it. It emphasizes the craziness of what love is, and how it's all unexplainable. The movie will make you laugh and will make you cry, but the real message behind it all is moving on. You have to let go of all the heartache, and even let go of all good times, and start over with a clean slate.
3. Little Miss Sunshine
This movie will make you feel so much better about yourself and your life. It captures the ability to find redemption among dysfunction and to rise above all odds. If it didn't make you heart happy when baby Abigail Breslin did that hilarious pageant routine, do you really have a soul?
4. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
If you've seen this movie, the reason why it's on my list is pretty self-explanatory. A kid starts off by simply wanting to skip school and ends up having the most elaborate day in the history of anyone's teenage years. He headlined a parade, crashed a priceless car, and still managed to remain under his parents' radar.
5. Pitch Perfect
Even if this movie doesn't make you feel like you can win a collegiate a capella competition, it's still laugh out loud hilarious. It's about rising against all odds and proving everyone wrong. Watching it will make you feel like no matter how bleak things may seem, even if you get shot by a burrito, nothing is ever a lost cause.
6. Sabrina
No, not the teenage with, the amazing old Audrey Hepburn movie. I feel like everyone in their life has had some sort of unrequited crush. Well, in this movie, the girl goes from a shy chauffeur's daughter looking distantly at the fancy parties in front of her to an amazing, confident woman who has the object of her affection and his brother pining over her.
7. Toy Story
Okay, any Pixar movie, but Toy Story was just the one that stood out to me among the rest. The race to get back home to Andy is one of the most adorable things you will watch in your life. It's hilarious and heartfelt, and it reminds us to always believe in the unexpected and to never give up.
8. Up
Everyone can agree that the first five minutes turn you into a sobbing mess. But there is something unexplainably amazing and beautiful about the lengths the little old man will go to in order to honor his wife's memory. He put balloons on house to fly away. If that doesn't say "I can do anything," I don't know what does.
