8 Lines Your Hometown Ex Will Use Over Break

And why they are all complete lies.

Being home for winter break can be tough. All of a sudden you went from being able to leave your house at 3 am for a taco, to your parents telling you that 11 pm is too late to go see your friends. But the worst thing to deal with over break is that dreaded hometown ex. That guy you grew out of in college, but worms his way back into your life when you're both in town. Here eight lines he'll try to get together with you, and why they're BS.

1) "I just want to catch up."

And by catch up he means make out on his parents' couch. He probably used the phrase "just chill" about twenty times in the conversation as well.

2) "I've changed"

He will tell you twenty times that college has made him more mature. He will keep repeating that you would love to meet the "new and improved" guy he is. Fact is as soon as your together he will turn into the same guy that thought making out in the back of his crappy car was "spontaneous and fun".

3) "It'll just be a fling, no feelings involved."

Anytime you hang out with someone you used to be involved with those old feelings come rushing back. Save yourself the second heartbreak and avoid him all together.

4) "But we have nothing better to do."

First off, never be someone's last resort. Secondly, there are currently 6 seasons of both Gossip Girl and Game of Thrones you can binge watch. Both of which are better than living reruns of your high school love life.

5) "But baby please."

You're not his baby, or whatever other pet name he uses for you. Remember that you don't owe him anything and that in a few weeks he'll forget about you until the summer rolls around.

6) "No one will find out."

No one except: his high school buddies, your best friend, his mom, your mom, and everyone else in your hometown.

7) "This is the last time, I promise."

The last time until spring break, then summer, then fall break until you're all the way back to winter break once again.

8) "I miss you."

Translation: "I miss having someone to flirt with, and your the most eligible girl in the area." Don't be an easy target. You're a queen and you deserve more than this.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
