I have grown to love Christian music so much. I find it to be very comforting in times when I need a pick me up. But I also love to sing along with these songs in the car to give praise to the Lord. The following songs are some of my favorite and I hope they will eventually become yours too. Listen to the lyrics and hear Gods word speak to you. Enjoy!

1. Holy Spirit — Francesca Battistelli

I first discovered this song during worship at church and I loved it because I definitely felt God’s presence during it. With all of the members and the band playing, it felt really cool to sing about God’s presence and feeling Him with us at the same time.

2. Redeemed — Big Daddy Weave

I love this song because it holds such a reassuring promise to me. The words of this song tell of how God has redeemed us and that we are made new. It’s so comforting to know that God has forgiven us and that we are loved unconditionally.

3. Jesus, We Love You — Bethel Music & Paul McClure

I first heard this song during a church camp and once again, I immediately fell in love with it. I love a song that sings praise to the Lord and it’s awesome to be able to give Him credit for all the awesome things He has done for us. This song is very comforting and a great one to sing along to.

4. Trust In You — Lauren Daigle

Another awesome song to assure you of how you can trust God no matter the situation. It reminds us that we can give all of our problems to Him and we don’t have to worry about what he will do with them. We can look to Him in times of need, for rest, and when He doesn’t move the mountains we need Him to move, we can still trust in Him.

5. 10,000 Reasons — Matt Redman

Just the name of this song gives us a reminder of the thousands of ways that He blesses us. He is rich in love and so very kind. Give this song a listen to be reminded of His awesomeness and everything he does for us.

6. This I Believe — Hillsong Worship

This song is great because it talks about what Christians believe and kind of what we think about our God. It shows what we believe in, and stand for. It’s a great one to sing along with!

7. Good Good Father — Chris Tomlin

This is a popular song and I can see why. I love giving praise to the Lord and the lyrics talk about how our God is so good and powerful. He provides us with the things we need and he is irreplaceable.

8. Pursue/All I Need Is You — Hillsong Worship

I discovered this song when Selena Gomez made a list of a couple of her favorite songs. I listened to it and I loved it. This song is very powerful and it says just what the title does. The lyrics say that all we need is Jesus and that we need to pursue Him forever.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
