We've all had that one friend that we have known since the diaper ages. They are the ones that have been there for your awkward stage and still continue to be your friend despite all the weird things that you've done throughout both of your lifetimes. Your parents are best friends and you cannot go a week without talking to them. Here are some of the things that happen when you've been best friends with someone since birth:
1. Your family is their family. You share aunts, uncles, cousins and parents- therefore you have double the amount of love, but double the amount of scolding if you do anything wrong. Your moms will tell each other everything, which means there will be absolutely no secrets.
2. You have clothes at each others houses. Just in case you need to shower at any time and considering you are always there, you might as well have your own drawer of clothes.
3. Your house is their house. Don’t be surprised if you walk into your house and your best friend is standing there, eating out of your refrigerator. This is completely normal considering you basically share houses with one another.
4. Milestones will be spent together. You will experience all new happenings with this person- the heartbreak of your first boyfriend, the excitement of getting your licenses and of course getting in trouble together.
5. Sleepovers. Your first sleepover is with this person. At a very young age you will start having sleepovers even if it means that you are just having a nap with one another in the upstairs bedroom during your aunt's birthday party.
6. No boundaries. You don’t care about anything you do in front of one another. If they’ve stayed friends with you through the awkward tomboy and A-Teens obsession, they’ll stay with you for everything.
7. Flashbacks. You will always reminisce on crazy things that you guys used to do as kids. Pretending to be spies, making up new dance moves to the latest Backstreet Boys song and playing ‘hop rocks’ all fall under this category.
8. They will ALWAYS have your back. No matter what, your best friend has stayed with you through everything and will continue to. You spend holidays, family parties and every birthday together. You will be forever excited for your children to be as good as friends as you are.
