8 Halloween Costumes You Probably Saw This Weekend

Now that halloweekend is over you are constantly scrolling through Instagram seeing everyone's different costumes. There are always the traditional costumes every year, along with the creative ones relevant to recent popular culture. So here are the top 10 costumes you probably saw this halloween.

1. Harley Quinn: The movie, Suicide Squad, was a hit not only in theaters, but on Halloweekend as well. A lot of girls dressed up as Harley Quinn all down the way down detailed tattoos. Some even had a friend or boyfriend dress up as the Joker to be their partner in crime.

2. Eleven: The Netflix series, "Stranger Things" was a huge hit across pop culture. That being said, a lot of people dressed up as Eleven, some had the bloody nose while others were munching on some eggos.

3. Aliens: It seemed like we got a lot of visitors from different plants this year. Girls were sporting galactic leggings paired with some antenna's. Some even covered their faces with vibrant colors and intricate detailing.

4. Rockers: Fishnet stockings and a rock-and-roll t-shirt was a simple costume that a lot of girls went with. Some spiced it up by painting a star around their eyes to symbolize the band, KISS, while others just threw on a bandana as an extra little prop.

5. Sports Player: This is a simple go-to last minute costume. All you need is a jersey of any football, baseball, basketball, hockey, or any other sport, maybe throw on some lines under your eyes and you are all set.

6. Victoria Secret Angels: Halloween is known for bringing out girl's scandalous side. To fully embrace it some girls wore their favorite bra, threw on a silk robe, and topped it off with a pair of angel wings.

7. Deer: If you are a make-up guru then you more than likely decked your face out to make you look like some animal. The most common were deers, cats, and bunnies. This allows girls to show off their winged eyeliner and contour skills.

8. Vampires: This was a step away from the scandalous route most girls went towards. Put in your fangs and cover yourself with some fake blood and you are ready to hit the night.

No matter what your dressed up as, all that matters is that you had fun with your friends and stayed safe!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
