Ahh, the great days of our childhood when there was absolutely nothing to worry about. Those days are unfortunately behind us. I have to admit that I am often proud of being a 90s baby because of the great and iconic music that I loved and grew up with: the boy bands, baggy overalls, and crinkly hair styles from the 90s are unforgettable. Even though the good days are over, I will never forget the music that made me feel so happy inside as a young girl.

1. Britney Spears

I've always referred to Britney as the "Pop Princess of the 90s" because that's what she was. When people think of the 90s, they always think of her. From numerous hits, such as "Lucky" and "Overprotected," (my favorite Britney song) to her acting debut in the movie "Crossroads," she was considered the unforgettable face of the 90s.

2. *NSYNC

One of the infamous boy bands of the 90s that definitely left their mark in history. *NSYNC had so many memorable dance moves and songs that it's hard to pick a favorite. If I had to pick my favorite song from the group, it would have to be either "Do Your Thing" or "Gone." As all of us know, Justin Timberlake broke away from the group and started his solo career, which was successful. However, he will always be known as the lead singer for *NSYNC.

3. Destiny's Child

Absolutely no doubt, this is one of the greatest R&B girl groups of all-time. Known for songs like "Say My Name," "Bills, Bills, Bills," "Survivor," and many more, the original Destiny's Child group actually had four members, excluding Michelle Williams. Michelle was added to the group several years later, but the addition of Michelle led to many successes for the group. RIP to Destiny's Child, for the group will always be in our hearts.

4. TLC

T-Boz, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Chili made up arguably one of the best 90s R&B girls groups. From "No Scrubs," "What About Your Friends," "Waterfalls" and "Creep," TLC had plenty of memorable hits. The group was especially known for their creative, eccentric style, and outfit choices. Tragedy struck the singing group when the news came that the lead singer, Left Eye, died in a car accident in 2002. A documentary about her was released on TV titled "Last Days of Left Eye."

5. Usher

Back in the 90s and early 00s, Usher was known as the talented, young boy with the awesome dance moves. If you don't know an Usher song, shame on you! Some of his hits include "Let It Burn," "U Remind Me," "U Got It Bad," " You Make Me Wanna," "U Don't Have To Call" and "Nice & Slow."

6. Christina Aguilera

I call Christina Aguilera the "Ariana Grande of the 90s" for those who didn't grow up listening to her because of her soulful, powerful voice. Growing up, I used to belt the lyrics to "Genie in a Bottle" and "What a Girl Wants" on my microphone, AKA my hairbrush. Aguilera was known back then for her colorful hair and make-up. Every little girl wanted to be just like her, if not Christina, then definitely Britney Spears.

7. Avril Lavigne

When I was younger, Avril Lavigne brought out my rockstar, punk-rock, alter-ego. From hits, such as "Complicated," "My Happy Ending," and "Sk8er Boi," the Canadian singer made girls across America play their air guitars and whip their hair back and forth until their necks started to hurt.

8. Selena (no not Gomez)

Last but not least, the beautiful Latina singer Selena. Many remember the movie Selena, where Jennifer Lopez did an amazing job portraying her. My favorite Selena song is "I Could Fall in Love" followed by "Dreaming of You." Selena also died tragically at a young age when the president of her fan club, Yolanda, murdered her.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
