8 Fashion Must-Haves This Summer

Summer is finally in full swing, so here are a few of my wardrobe essentials for this season.

1. Gladiator Sandals

Two words: must have. There's a reason these super cute summer staples made it to the top of my list. Not only do they automatically make any outfit cuter, but they also make your legs look on point. Whether it’s a t-shirt dress or some cute floral shorts, these shoes make any outfit more fun.

2. Summer Scarf

We all know scarves are a must in the fall and winter, but who says you can’t rock one during the summer months, too? These light weight scarfs make any outfit fun, flirty and fabulous. The best part is that you get this fall favorite without feeling like you’re burning up.

3. Large Sunglasses

I’m a born and raised Florida girl, and we all know Florida is known for its sunny, hot summer days. So I personally believe this is more than a staple; it’s a necessity. Any sunglasses will do the job but why settle for basic when you can go all out and look super sassy while doing it. Large sunglasses are a fad that have been around for a few years and they don’t seem to be going away any time soon so you might as well hop on the wagon.

4. White Jeans

I know we all rock our basic "jeans and T-shirt" look all school year, but who said we have to leave in there. White jeans are the perfect mix between fun, cute and casual; plus, they don’t get as hot as normal jeans. My favorite thing about white jeans is that you can dress them up or dress them down, they literally go with anything.

5. Swim Coverup

This isn’t really something you wear every day (unless you’re really a beach / pool person) but it still is a must-have for the summer. Why settle for just wearing shorts and a T-shirt over your swimsuit when you can get yourself a super cute coverup that won’t look super awkward when it gets wet (girls ya feel?) and looks cute if you want to go somewhere after the beach / pool.

6. T-Shirt Dress

My t-shirt dress is probably one of my favorite pieces in my closet (and trust me, I have a lot of clothes). I highly recommend a T-shirt dress to any girl who, like me, loves to look cute but is way too lazy to put in a lot of effort. This is just so easy to throw on and then pair with some cute sandals and a linear necklace. They also look really cute with converse for all you more sporty girls. PSA: These are usually pretty short so I wear spandex shorts with mine just so I don’t have a wardrobe malfunction.

7. Large Tote:

This is by far the most useful of the summer staples because it is so versatile. Whether its a day at the beach, running errands, shopping or a night on the town, large totes can carry everything and anything you need. They're especially great for people like me who always overpack. I also love to use mine when traveling since it's so big!

8. Floppy Hat

A floppy hat is definitely a must-have for the pure reason that they protect your head and face while you’re out and about. They’re most commonly used at the beach but also look cute with almost any summer outfit, (i.e. palazzo pants and a tank top, a light dress, etc.). Cute and practical … always the way to go.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
