Hey guys, its mid-second semester. You're tired, I'm tired, things aren't going well. I could try and write a long, sappy article about how everything will be fine if you just persevere and keep your nose to the grindstone, but I won't. Instead, sit back and relax while I rock your world with eight rescue dogs who want you to know you're gonna be okay.

1. James Earl Bones, Charleston, South Carolina

A sweet Coonhound who wants a family to snuggle. He's available at Carolina Coonhound Rescue.

2. Chloe, Carrollton, Texas

She's a chocolate Lab mix who loves kids! Chloe is available at Lost Paws Rescue of Texas.

3. Sally, Columbia, South Carolina

She's a Rottie/Hound mix who loves belly rubs and is available at Pets Inc.

4. Louisa, San Diego, California

Described as a "dainty" five-year-old Terrier who is very snuggly. Available at Second Chance Dog Rescue.

5. Tiger Woods, Kanab, Utah

A senior Border Collie looking for his fur-ever home! He’s available for a free flight and waived adoption fee at Best Friends Animal Society-Utah.

6. Tina, Southampton, New York

A two-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix who is looking for a stable family. She's available at Last Chance Animal Rescue.

7. Isaac Meyer, Seattle, Washington

Isaac is a Pit Bull Terrier who loves car rides and walks in the park! He is available at Ginger's Pet Rescue.

8. Ingrid, Fargo, North Dakota

A one-year-old Great Pyrenees mix who, after a hip surgery, is ready to finally play like the puppy she is. Ingrid is available at 4 Luv of Dog.

Hopefully these sweet pups gave you just what you needed to push through this semester (and maybe a few of you just found a new fur-ever friend)!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
