Last summer I started watching "Friday Night Lights" on Netflix. I knew I had found my new favorite show about halfway through the first episode. That was also when I realized Leslie Knope was 100% right when she said, "The correct answer for favorite TV show is Friday Night Lights." It's really hard not to love the show and its characters, especially Coach Taylor. He's a good coach, father and husband. He's also full of life lessons. Here are eight things he taught us that everyone needs to live by:

1. "You give 110% all the time, not just when you feel like it."

2. "I'm a firm believer in you can do anything you put your mind to."

Walt Disney once said, "If you can dream it, you can do it." While it is important to have dreams, you also need to believe in these dreams and believe that you can make them come true.

3. "Champions don't give up. Champions don't complain. Champions give 200 percent. You're not champions until you've earned it."

If you want something, work for it. Something that you want isn't going to simply fall into your lap.

4. "Every man at some point in his life is gonna lose a battle. He's gonna fight and he's gonna lose. But what makes him a man, is that in the midst of that battle he does not lose himself."

It's okay to lose a battle. That's just part of life. What's important is that you don't lose yourself.

5. "Don't quit on me. Don't quit on yourself."

Even when the going gets tough, never give up.

6. "Success is not a goal. It's a byproduct."

All you need is a good attitude and to work hard.

7. "I said you need to strive to be better. I didn't say you needed to be better than everyone else, but you've gotta try. That's what character is. It's in the trying."

Even if you're not better than everyone else, at least you know you tried.

8. "You listen to people that love you, and you listen to people that you trust. Most of all, you listen to yourself."

The people that love you won't give you bad advice, and you should listen to them. You should also listen to yourself, and do what you think is right.

And last, but certainly not least and probably the best known "Friday Night Lights" quote:

9. "Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose."

If you've never watched "Friday Night Lights", you should definitely consider watching. It's full of life lessons; these were just a few of the best. Plus, who doesn't like a show about football in Texas?

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
