8 Brands Every Modern Young Woman Should Follow
Business Review USA

There's a phrase that advises you should surround yourself with people who reflect what you want to be. I think this advice can translate to any part of life, and is especially useful for which social media accounts and blogs we follow. If you are in college, just graduated or are starting a new chapter in life, it's especially important to surround yourself with motivation and resources to help you succeed.

Lately I've been trying to fill my various feeds with blogs, articles and social media accounts that will teach me how to be a successful professional, and provide tips on how to live my best life.

Here are a few brands every modern young woman should follow!

1. The Everygirl

This is my favorite site for several reasons: it's beautifully laid out, covers tons of topics, and is relatable to all kinds of women. Whether you want career advice, a new recipe to try, financial help, travel inspiration or tips for wellness, this site really is for every girl (or woman)!

2. Advice From A 20 Something

The clever, stylish 20-something behind this blog is Amanda Holstein, who created the site because "people don’t really tell you just how difficult your twenties can be, so I wanted to provide a resource for everyday women where they can ask questions and find tips on all aspects of their lives — from fashion & beauty, to love, relationships, and even their careers." This blog is great for young, modern women and has beautiful photography. I love her Instagram feed, and probably double-tap every photo Amanda posts. She's also Beauty Editor for The Everygirl, so check her out there too

3. Her True Worth

This is an Instagram account filled with encouraging quotes and Bible scriptures targeted towards women. It's encouraging when I see scripture from the Bible reminding me that I am worthy or strong, or that God is bigger than anything in this world.

4. Headed Somewhere

Mary Lauren, the creator of this lifestyle blog, is an inspiring woman who gives me hope that one day when I have a family (God willing) I can still pursue my creative/professional passions and do fun things! She posts beautiful photos, great style tips and where to shop, cool travel photos and sweet family moments.

5. The Blog Market

This is the most recent blog I've started following, and I love it! They have great resources and tutorials for bloggers and business people, but honestly Blog Market's posts can apply to anyone who uses social media, technology or is wanting to create a personal brand.

6. She Reads Truth

This is an online community for women in Christ who want to read and live out the Word of God. Their Bible studies are easy to follow, but still fulfilling, encouraging and thought-provoking.

7. Sweet Petite

This is a bakery and catering service by a young woman named Jenna Kincaid, and the reason I follow her on Instagram and visit her blog is because she is a huge inspiration for entrepreneurs! The Everygirl did an interview with Jenna, and this young woman is life goals: she is a 22-year-old college graduate with her own catering business and works a full-time IT job with Lulu & Georgia. Not to mention her business is run from a commissary kitchen, a super cute cart and technology.

8. Gal Meets Glam

This lifestyle blog was created by Julia Engel, who I initially followed because of her beautiful style tutorials. However, after reading her blog, she's also an inspiration to women who are thinking about pursuing a creative passion full time or making a big career change.

Explore these brands and tell me what you think! What are some of your favorite blogs?

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
