One thing a lot of people don't know about me is that I love makeup. While lately, I've been trying to give my face a break from it, especially while working all summer, I still drool when I walk by Sephora or BareEscentuals. I just love it. The colors, the shades, the variations - it all fascinates me.

As a theatre major, I have my own set of makeup for the stage, which is harsh and heavy. So in my normal day-to-day life, I want something light that just shows me, not some character I am playing.

For years, I have explored various products, and in all of my experimentation I have found some amazing beauty products. Here is a list of 8 beauty products that you need right now. Maybe you didn't know you needed them, but now you will.

1) Maybelline's The Falsies Big Eyes Mascara

This mascara is seriously awesome. Although I have only had mine for a short time, it is by far one of my favorites. My favorite thing about is that it has two sides, one for top lashes and one for bottom. This is especially great for all you people out there with small bottom lashes that find it nearly impossible to put mascara on. I got yo back. Maybelline's got yo back. Bonus - the bottom lash brush is so tiny that I sometimes use it as eye liner when I'm in a rush. It gives the perfect tiny amount to just make it look like you're wearing something. I love it, and now you can too.

2) Rimmel's Lasting Finish Colour Rush Lip Balm

This is another new product that I am in love with. The attraction began when I realized it was a collaboration product with Rita Ora, who wanted to create 6 long lasting lip colours (so British chique!) and 6 quick-drying nail colours. Colour Rush was born, and now we all can enjoy these great products. Although I haven't tried the nail polish, I seriously love the lip balm. It gives a great splash of colour; it's not messy at all, and it lasts foreverrrrr. It comes in 3 warm colours and 3 cool colours, so you have a nice range to choose from.

3) Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind Eraser

Okay, so I know that I am only 20 years old, and therefore do not need my age to be rewound. However, a busy college student like me is bound to get circles under the eyes every once in a while. It's inevitable. Now, thanks to Maybelline, I don't have to look like a zombie. Not only that, but it also works as a sunscreen, preventing further damage to my face by the sun. They have a full line of Instant Age Rewind products, but the eraser is my favorite.

4) Liquid Eye Liner Pen

I know, this is super generic, but I swear I am going somewhere with this. I have tried every single eye liner under the sun - liquid, powder, gel, pencil, EVERYTHING. But nothing has ever been quite as efficient as liquid eye liner pens. A lot of people who have tried regular liquid eye liner in the past are turned down by the idea of the pen. But I swear it's different! It's better! It can go on thick or thin! It's easy to use!

My favorite is the So Intense Liquid Liner Pen from Victoria's Secret, but it is sadly discontinued. You can buy it for an insane price on Amazon, or you can just find a similar product that more suits your need.

5) Bath and Body Works' C.O. Bigelow's Mentha Lip Shine

If you like to have cool, fresh, and smooth lips, then look no further for the perfect product. This lip gloss always leaves my lips feeling great. It clears up any chapped lips very quickly and makes your mouth minty fresh. My favorite was the Butterscotch flavor, but now they carry a bunch of different flavors in all different shapes and sizes. it's great for an on-the-go day when you want smooth lips and fresh breath.

6) Lush's Colour Supplements

Most of you have probably heard of Lush's bath bombs, but did you know they carry a bunch of fresh and handmade cosmetics too? Now you do! If you thought their bath products were amazing, wait until you try this. If you don't know what a colour supplement is, don't know how to use it, or don't know what shade to pick, Lush has a great guide to answer all your questions. My preferred shade is Jackie Oates, but obviously yours will depend on your skin color. What's great about these is that they can be used in many different ways, they are not tested on animals, they work really well, and the natural ingredients are good for your skin. (The major ingredients in mine are water, oat milk, and safflower oil.) These are all around awesome!

7) Sephora's Hello Kitty Charmmy Eyeshadow Stick

I don't wear eyeshadow very frequently, but when I do, I use this as my go-to. It applies almost like cream, and the color is so rich and vibrant. I've had mine for a while, but it still stays fresh and smooth. The Sephora website lists it in their Q&A, but it's impossible to find in their products, so it's unclear whether or not they have discontinued it. However, they do have a lot of other similar eyeshadow sticks, so I highly recommend those. If you're absolutely in love with the bright colors and cute design of the Hello Kitty sticks (like I am), you can purchase an entire set of them on eBay. If not, then eyeshadow sticks in general are definitely the way to go.

8) BareMinerals

I saved the best for last. For years, I have refused to use any other foundation than BareMinerals. Their products are by far the best; their foundations are lightweight and make your skin look amazing. I could talk about their products endlessly, but I will limit it to my absolutely favorites. Their primer, called Prime Time, is the creamiest primer I have ever seen, so efficient it can often be used by itself. Just one little quick pump, and there is enough to prime your entire face in pure perfection. Their foundation, a powdered mineral substance, is supreme. Their brushes make it so easy to put on, and their mantra of "Swirl, Tap, Buff" is the best way to apply any powder ever. All of their foundations (my chosen shade is Medium Beige), have SPF 15 to protect skin. It is easily appliable, very light, and erases any shine from the face while leaving a slight glow. I will never use another foundation again, and now you don't have to either.

There you have it - amazing beauty products that will leave you looking like yourself, feeling like yourself, and loving yourself. Just remember, beauty is not everything. If you rock it out with nothing at all, you go girl (or boy, I don't judge). If you wear every product there is, that's okay too. Stay true to yourself and take care of yourself. Nothing else matters.
