We all remember the 3 R's: reduce, reuse, recycle. Most of us remember learning this in elementary school on Earth day. As time goes on some of us may have forgotten some quick and easy ways for us to help our environment. With all this talk about climate change and global warming here are some ways we can help:

1.Buy reusable water bottles instead of plastic

Buying a reusable water bottle is not only better for the environment but better on your wallet. This saves you from continuously spending money on more water bottles. If you're worried about the water quality Brita water bottles come with a filter.

2.Buy recycled/ recyclable products

Buying items that have been made with recycled products make more of a difference than what you think and re- recycling those products again among others reduces the amount of trash that gets sent to the landfills.

3.Carpool

Carpooling is a win win situation for everyone. If you're a parent and carpool taking your kids to school that means not only does it help the environment by reducing the amount of fumes in the air, but it gets you out of dealing with the early morning school traffic everyday.

4.Spread awareness about climate change

Climate change is not talked about as often as it should be, The truth is, it is a very serious problem and needs to be addressed. So far climate change has played a major role in the endangerment of many animals and animal habitats such as honey bees, and the Great Barrier Reef. Let's get the word out so we can get to a solution.

5.Do not litter

We've all done it. I know I'm guilty of doing in the past, but that has stopped. Everything you do can make a difference. Throwing trash out the car window or in the store parking lot is not helping anything for the better.

6. Use environmentally friendly products

Buy from companies you know are making an effort toward helping the environment and make their products as environmentally friendly as possible.

7.Save water, electricity, and energy

Shut off the lights when you're not using them. Buy energy efficient light bulbs and appliances. Try not to leave the water running. These are all simple ways to save all three of the items mentioned above.

All in all, it's easy to start helping the environment, but it starts with yourself and at home. Let's make an effort.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
