7 Ways To Have A Fun And Cheap Spring Break When You're In College

We all know a spring break vacation can get overly priced, especially when you're a broke college student. However, people need to learn how to have fun without living lavishly. It's all about the experience, so make the most out of it, even if you're not staying at a five-star resort. We're college students, we know how to have fun.

1. Drive.

It's pretty obvious how expensive flights can be during a normal time of the year, but during spring break, they're usually double the amount! Not only is this cheaper, but who doesn't love a road trip with your friends? The amount of money you'll spend on gas driving down with your friends, splitting the cost, probably won't even be a quarter of the amount you'd spend on a flight ticket.

2. Stock up on cheap, non-perishable food.

Often times, people forget that they have to eat when they get to their destination. Unfortunately, all inclusive resorts don't exist in the U.S. so why not use your meal plan? I know I plan on bringing endless amounts of ramen noodles, mac and cheese cups, and Rice-a-roni. And if you don't have a meal plan, stock up on these things anyway (it's way cheaper)!

3. Resort, hotel, or motel?

Motel. It may be dirty but at least it's cheap. You plan on being on the beach the whole time anyways, am I right?

4. Build up your squad.

The more people you have, the more people to split the costs of things. Gas, motel room, food, etc. Not only do more people result in a cheaper vacation, but the more the merrier we all are.

5. Bring a cooler.

Nobody wants to be buying the overpriced drinks everywhere. So, stock up on all of your favorite cold drinks beforehand -- if you know what I mean.

6. Be spontaneous.

There might be things you've never done before or even thought of before. This is what spring break is all about. Don't think through your decisions, just go for it. This is what makes the best memories.

7. Leave the books on the shelf.

Unless you want to fall asleep half of the time, don't you dare even think about bringing your backpack or your laptop. Let this vacation be 100 percent stress free without a care in the world! Focus on your tan, not your school work. Books are for school.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
