There is catastrophic damage throughout a good amount of regions of Texas, especially so in the Houston area. The damage from the storm was ridiculous, as some areas got around four feet or more of flooding. People from surrounding areas were encouraged to bring their boats to help those stranded in lieu of the emergency help. If you're curious as to how you can help, here are some links to help you donate to those in need!

1. GHCF

This is a website which helps connect donors with nonprofits and solutions in a social setting.

2. United Way

The United Way Relief Fund helps to meet storm-related needs in the community. 100% of what is given goes straight to help the communities affected recover.

3. North American Mission Board

The Send Relief and Southern Baptist Disaster Relief (SBDR) teams started to respond before Harvey even made landfall. They have now been asked to assist in taking care of 60,000 Texans, as well as preparing meals and cleaning services to try to help survivors homes. Any of these donations will help to the basic needs from showers, laundry, meals, etc.

4. Direct Relief

Direct Relief is giving funding and emergency health kits to local health centers in Texas. What’s in the kits are based on the organization's experience with other hurricanes and include common items such as insulin, asthma inhalers, and anti-hypertensive medications.

5. Coastal Bend Recovery Group

The Coastal Bend Recovery Group is a state-recognized long term recovery non-profit to help the Coastal Bend area that’s affected by disasters. Coastal Bend is devastated by the needs and donating to this is a way to help. Ways to help are donating funds and materials and volunteering to help.

6. Portlight

This specific organization focuses on helping out people with disabilities, which are especially vulnerable to disasters and they need additional assistance.

7. Texas Diaper Bank

This one is perfect for those that wish to help with babies, children with disabilities, and vulnerable senior citizens.
