The school year is in full swing and as Emory students flock to class and eventually to Woodruff library, a very real threat emerges. Yes, I'm talking about writer's block, a student deadline's worst enemy. I have yet to meet a person that can stay focused all of the time and ward off writer's block. So, I've come up with a few things that I hope will help everyone stay grinding!
1. Go get some (brain) food
Food can work wonders. Honestly, nothing gets accomplished when I am hangry.
2. Start your assignment early
You may not be able to make any headway on your paper, but at least your mind wont be completely blank an hour before your paper is due.
3. Take a walk
Make sure you pay attention to time, though. I once got lost in the woods the day before a final.
4. Call a friend
If it's exam season, they will most likely have something more productive to do, but you guys can procrastinate together!
5. Look through old photos
Looking through good times and old memories always puts me in a better mood and often gives me inspiration.
6. Give up and go to sleep
Given that whatever you are writing is hopefully not due that day, there's not much that cannot be accomplished on a good nights sleep.
7. Write an article about writers block
They say write what you know.
