I know, I know, it totally sounds crazy. Every person I know is dying to go back to school as soon as possible, even I am guilty of mentally counting down the days until I can move back. Yet, while everyone cannot possibly wait another second to pack up their bags, there are still a few things you will miss when at your home away from home.
1. Stable WiFi
At home you're not competing with thousands of people all trying to watch Netflix at the same time, so the WiFi is so much faster and more reliable in your own bed at home.
2. Your Privacy
As much as we all love living with our best friends, it's nice to sleep in your own room where you don't have to listen to your roommates snoring or wake up with them at 8:00 a.m., even when your classes don't start until 1:00 p.m.
3. Showers sans Shower Shoes
This one goes without saying: Most people would rather shower without footwear.
4. The Food
Home life is great because you have home-cooked meals that are both reasonably healthy and not football player-sized portions. Having cabinets full of your favorite snack foods that are accessible at any time day or night is great too.
5. The Space
At home your life is not completely compartmentalized into small baskets and storage bins. It's nice to have a full-size closet where you can actually hang up all your clothes without having to put multiple shirts on one hanger.
6. Animals
One of the worst things about going back to school is having to say goodbye to your pet. When home, you can snuggle with your dog or cat at any time.
7. Your Family
I know come end of August we are all pretty much done with our family (and they're done with us too). However, people are lying when they say that they don't miss their family at school. You will even miss your annoying little sister who steals your clothes.
It's almost the end of summer and most college students are beginning the stressful process of packing up for school. While most of us can't wait to get back to school, it's important to remember that we will miss some things about home.
