There are many people who know exactly what I am talking about. The cold weather for some people makes everything worse. I find myself not going to as many things because it involves going outside for some time. Here are some things you can do to make the winter blues a little better.

1. Listen and dance to pump up music with your friends

Nothing is better than dancing with your friends while in your dorm room. This not only will get you excited for the night, but it will boost your confidence. They will give you memories that you won't forget. They will make sure to make you smile.

2. Change up your schedule

Having the same schedule each week can get annoying. If you’re like me, you have to schedule things weeks in advance. Do something different. Go on an adventure instead of working ahead. Go explore the city you are living in. Do something that you have been wanting to do for awhile, but haven’t had time for.

3. Buy yourself a healthy smoothie

This is a fun way to get out of your dorm and go somewhere with your friends. There are bound to be different establishments that have smoothies (which are healthy for you)! It will not only boost your energy, but will get you thinking about ways to start improving your health.

4. Watch a feel-good movie

We all love a good romantic-comedy. Grab a group of your friends and pop some popcorn. There are plenty of different movies that will put you in a good mood.

5. Go on a car ride and enjoy the scenery

Depending on where you are in the country, this could be a good option. There might be some snow on the ground, which will make everything look a lot prettier. It's also a good time to take some pictures with your friends. Snow always gives off the best light.

6. Learn how to do something new

I know a lot of people who have started to learn how to knit. If you have any instruments around you, grab one of those! There are so many things we aren't experts at and we should try to get better at them.

7. Sit back and relax with a nice hot pizza

Who doesn't love eating a lot of pizza? I feel like this cures a lot of problems. If you're feeling down, get yourself a pizza. Trust me, you won't regret it.

I know that the first couple months of the year can be hard. Trust me, I'm right there with you. However, don't let a few months get you in a rut. You are a beautiful human who deserves to be happy. I hope one of these things will bring a smile to your face.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
