Everyone's favorite Hallmark created holiday is right around the corner. I'm sure all the single girls are getting their barf bags ready for this love filled holiday (I am too). While their is something nausea inducing about Valentines day, rest assured there is a way to spend your day that doesn't involve watching a movie on your own or waiting until midnight for incredible chocolate sales. Galentine's Day is the best way to spend your non-romantic day with your other single gal pals.
1. Drink Up
This classic option can never be overused. You can even throw in a drinking game. Every time you see a couple holding hands, take a shot. Why deal with boys when you can use alcohol to fill the empty void?
2. Ice Cream!
For those girls who don't use alcohol to solve their problems (or don't feel like drinking), use ice cream instead. Since you won't be going on a romantic dinner for two, feel free to make your ice cream a delicious dinner for one. Make sure to appreciate the two main men in your life: Ben and Jerry.
3. Watch a Movie
On Galentine's Day you can go two ways with movies. You can watch movies like The Notebook or Breakfast at Tiffany's and cry over how cute Noah Calhoun and Paul Varjak are (this is where the ice cream and alcohol come in handy). Or you could watch movies like The Other Woman, Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, or even Heathers to strengthen the bond with your gal pals and see some hardcore girls kick some butt.
4. Exchange Gifts with your Girlfriends
Nothing makes a person smile like receiving a gift. Especially an edible gift.
5. Make an Tinder
It's always nice to have a little confidence boost and what better way to do that than have multiple strangers swipe right on you. Plus, it's kind of fun to look through all the people on tinder with your friends.
6. Order Pizza
There will never be a love in your life truer than pizza. Like alcohol, it fills the hole in your heart and brings a smile to almost everyone's face. Just look at how happy this pup is. I feel this on a spiritual level.
7. Appreciate your Gal Pals
They've been their with you through all your shitty relationships and all your shitty almost relationships. Make sure to take this day whether it be February 13th or 14th and celebrate your girls.
