As someone who is initially perceived as shy and very reserved, I'm immensely appreciative of my best friend who has unknowingly made me a better person.

Whether you are 'the fun friend' or best friends with them, I hope you see a reflection of yourself and the special relationship you share with your person in this list! Share what makes your fun friend your best friend!

1. Trying New Things

Anything outgoing isn't normally something you would see yourself being a part of, but your fun friend will do anything in their power to make you try this at least once. You'll pretend like you hate it, but in reality, you both know how badly you've been wanting to try this. Whether it's new cuisine or borderline crazy adventures, you wouldn't have stepped out of that comfort zone had it not been for them.

2. School

Honestly, if your fun friend can make studying efficient and not result in wanting to sleep after every paragraph, that friendship is so much deeper than what you can see. A best friend that makes sure you take care of yourself and your future in the midst of the party that accompanies their presence, that's something you hold onto.

3. The Party

Every fun friend knows how to party! Every fun friend that's your best friend knows when to stop the party, too. Knowing you need to be pushed a little to have fun and let loose, but also staying mindful of when too much is too much. That kind of best friend love where you can send those looks to each other and know you're ready to go or ready to go. But never go without giving it a chance!

4. Cleaning

If you're lucky enough to live with your best friend like me, you don't dread it as much. You finish in less time because it's.. (Mom, stop reading) fun?

5. Family

Once you meet their family, it's like being let into a whole different world of theirs. You're invited to the most intimate part of their lives with the people they grew up with. If you're lucky enough to gain the acceptance of the whole family, your best friend becomes a household name.

6. Advice

Although the truth can hurt, you wouldn't want it any other way. Your best friend becomes the only person who can speak the coldest of truths to you and you couldn't be more grateful. Relationships, friends, school, or the typical - there's something so honest about their perspective. Advice isn't always a hard truth, but even about the simplest of things like your wardrobe. If you couldn't be any more different in personalities, it's just a cute bonus when you realized you could fit each others' wardrobes.

7. Happiness

A fun friend turned best friend is one of the greatest relationships one can have. You can experience sad bouts with each other, but you're also each others' light at the end of the tunnel. You can go about a serious day or week and ultimately, you'll end in tears from the deepest belly laughs about how your friend couldn't take his contacts out of his eyes. They're your break as you are theirs.

They're your person and they'll always light up your life more than they think they do. Just make sure you let them know every once in a while.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
