The fashion school is so big at Kent State that it is assumed that every girl came here for fashion. That is not the case for me, and maybe 5 other girls. Just kidding, but sometimes it feels like it. Anyways, here are a few things that probably crossed your mind.
1. "Are you a fashion major?"
NO. DO I LOOK LIKE A FASHION MAJOR TO YOU? I am 10/10 always wearing bum clothes, so no, I am not a fashion major.
2. BUT, all of your friends are fashion majors.
So ya, I second handedly took branding and fabrics and whatever else. I know more about that major than i'd like to admit. I even considered getting a fashion minor just so I could hang out with my friends more.
3. You feel like crap when you walk past fashion majors because they are all so trendy.
I respect you if you are wearing heels to class. More power to ya. And you definitely know who the fashion majors are, so trendy.
4. You thank god you don't have to carry those big black bags with sketches and whatever else in there.
Even though I sometimes have to carry a tripod with me, I am still grateful I am not lugging around a big bag all day.
5. Knowing you are in the right major because you aren't artsy at all.
I have watched people have to color for assignments, and be reaaaallllly precise about it. I just don't have the patience for that. I color outside the lines, and after about 10 minutes of trying to care I would just give up.
6. Jealousy of the beautiful lighting in Rockwell.
Sometimes I just walk through Rockwell because it is so gorgeous in there. Take a few selfies, and head on back to my dark building.
7. You copy all the trends you see.
Walking around campus is like reading a magazine. You see certain trends pop up and you just go with the flow. I feel like I am always ahead of the curve with these fashion majors guiding the way for me.
I only have love and respect for all majors. Teach me your ways fashionistas and keep doing you.
