College towns are full of excitement with festivities seemingly happening every day. There are always other students around to spend time with. It's hard to feel alone in a place as wonderful as a college town. Although there are many things to love about a college town, there are some characteristics that make me truly excited to be living in one again.
1. The citations.
Sometimes I park in a spot and I get worried that my car will be in the same place when I get back. College towns fix this problem simply by towing your car every other time you leave.
2. Road construction.
Don't you just hate when there are too many lanes open on the roads? This makes it difficult to choose which lane you want to be in. Thankfully, college towns limit the amount of lanes open on every road to a maximum of 2.
3. Burning lecture halls.
I get worried on my way to class that I forgot to bring my furnace with me. But the university is aware of my concerns and is taking every step possible to keep the lecture rooms flaming hot! Hooray!4. Wifi.
I absolutely hate it when the wifi works all the time without any problems. I love the tension I feel when connecting to campus wifi, unsure if it will work or not. Why can't more internet companies take note of the campus internet?!
5. The thin dorm walls.
Although there are so many things I miss about dorm life, there is one thing I miss the most: The thin walls that let me hear everything that my neighbors were doing from homework to.....other activities. It made me feel so much more connected to those around me!
6. Traffic.
Driving can be very lonely, but my college town has fixed the problem by over-crowding roads so that traffic is always backed up as far as the eye can see. And always be sure to honk to show your appreciation!
7. The overpriced textbooks.
I hate starting the semester with too much money. I hate the idea of feeling financially stable. I just wish the university would take even more of my money before classes start.
So to those who are starting or continuing college: may we have another blessed year with all the things we love about college.
