7 Things I've Learned So Far That Has Helped Me Maintain My Sanity

We get wound up and forget sometimes

1. REMEMBER

to love always.

Your feelings, questions, ideas and thoughts are valued and valid.

You do not need another person to validate them for you.

They are real the moment you feel them.

2. THINK

Think about what kind of person you want to be.

What kind of person do you want to show the world?

What kind of person do you want to keep to yourself?

Become the type of person you'd like to confide in .

3. KNOW

that seeing some one and interacting with someone everyday doesn't effect the importance of the relationship.

They will stay if they wish to.

4. GO

Literally just go.

Do it.

See you when you get back, you will be okay.

5. FAMILY

Whoever they may be (blood related or not), if they're important enough for you to call them family and mean it, they will take care of you, always. Don't doubt them.

6. ABSORB

You choose what you let in.

Absorb the things in this world that you want in your mind, body and soul.

Unwanted emotions and thoughts will try to make their way in.

Try your best to push them away.

7. FEAR

You'll always have it, because you're human.

Find strength to keep moving through fear and making it work to your advantage.

Conquer it.

These are just a few things I have found that help me keep the peace inside my head.

Sometimes we get so wound up as humans, we tend to forget the basics.

We can love so hard sometimes and not receive love back in the same way.

Often times that can be misread for something negative, but in reality, we need to just stop and breathe and think about our situation.

One day life is serious, the next day it is lax.

It's hard to keep up.

I see these things in the list above as life basics.

Although some are just common sense, I feel like in a busy life, we forget the little things.

I hope you feel loved today, friends.

You deserve it.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
