7 Things I'll Miss When The Obamas Leave The White House
E! Online

Everybody knows that this election is full of strong opinions and high stakes. We see it every day in the news and social media. No matter who wins the next election, one sad fact will be still be true: Barack Obama is leaving the White House. Whatever your politics are, there are a few things I think all of us will miss just a little bit when he and his family leave the White House.

1. His sense of humor.

Every year at the Correspondents Dinner, Obama graced us with his hilarious comedy bits. Between cracking jokes about his own age and the "end of the Republic," Obama finished strong with his 2016 speech.

2. Michelle.

Okay, she's literally the best. From her childhood fitness campaign to her impeccable wardrobe choices, Michelle knows how to kill the FLOTUS game more than anyone. If you haven't already, watch her do Carpool Karaoke and thank me later.

3. Their kids.

With parents like Michelle and Barack, how could you not turn out to be perfect, intelligent, amazing humans? Growing up in the White House must come with huge amounts of pressure, and Malia and Sasha have handled it with grace and humor the entire time. They were even listed on Time magazine's 25 most influential teens of 2014.

4. Their friendship with Bey and Jay-Z.

If you're friends with Beyonce and Jay-Z, how can you not be the coolest president of all time?! They are obviously very close, and Obama even went so far as to say, "Beyoncé could not be a better role model for my girls because she carries herself with such class and poise and has so much talent" at a fundraising event for Obama's 2012 campaign at Jay-Z's 40/40 club.

5. He takes criticism well.

As president, he obviously takes a lot of heat from the media and other politicians he works with. After a while, this constant bombardment of criticism must get old, but he handles it with class and humor. On "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Kimmel featured a President Barack Obama edition of his mean tweets segment

.

6. The Obama dogs.

The presidential pups, Sunny and Bo, are the perfect addition to the Obama family. Both Portuguese water dogs were added to the fam during their time in the White House. They each have actual schedules that the First Lady must approve every month. They are in high demand.

7. His relationship with Jimmy Fallon.

Last but not least, I'll miss watching Obama and Fallon "slow jam" the news on "The Tonight Show." If Jimmy Fallon loves him, then, of course, so do I. While they wrote thank you notes together on Fallon's show, Fallon showed his admiration of the President with these words: "Thank you, President Obama, for serving our nation with dignity, class, patience, eloquence, optimism and integrity. This, marking the first time anybody sincerely said, 'thanks, Obama.'"

And I think that sums it up pretty well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
