7 Things I Got From High School Sports

High School sports have so much more purpose than those four years. High School sports really shape you to be a better person. One person no matter how long you play can get so much out of high school sports.

1. Memories

You will never forget the times that you have spent on that field with those teammates. They are stories you laugh about in the future and that you tell your new teammates.

2. Athletic Skills for College Intramurals

You will dominate college intramurals and any fundraisers that you participate in the future. You will be the star of slow pitch softball.

3. A competitive drive

You will be competitive which is a great quality to have. When it comes to just playing games to fighting for an internship.

4. Teamwork

This is a quality that will help in group projects to out in the work force. It really helps you understand how to share the glory and the work.

5. The Idea of Disappointment

You have experienced great times, but throughout any sports there are tough losses. These help you in the future deal with the concept of disappointment

6. Work Ethic

Form practicing five days a week to pushing for that starting spot. This is a quality future employers and teachers will love. It will make you very successful no matter what path you go down.

7. Time Management

From balancing those five day a week practices to balancing all of your school work plus that part time job. It makes you so successful in college when you have all that free time and you procrastinate.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
