We celebrated the 16th birthday of Gilmore Girls last week. With pop up diners all around the nation and the intro song in all of our hearts, we got to reminisce for a day about the show that has driven a lot of us crazy since the early 2000's. November 25th, all of our hearts will be full once again as we can expect the Gilmore Girls revival! Here are 7 things that we can thank Gilmore Girls for teaching us.

1. Coffee is a necessity. Always.

Lorelai shows us the importance of coffee. From lying about how much she has had to drink to saying that she needed coffee in an IV, we can conclude that she was just as much of a coffee feign that we can all be at times. Coffee is crucial, y'all.

2. Some days are just hard.

Michel shows us that sass is inevitable. Whether it is in yourself, or in others, we can all relate to his constant snarky remarks that we know and love.

3. We need our moms some of the time. Or all the time.

We can relate to Rory because she always shows how much she needs Lorelai. Whether it is school, boys, or dinner at her grandparents... Rory relies on her mom and confides in her all the time.

4. School first, always.

Boys are great and all, but school always always ALWAYS comes first. Rory is a good reminder of this!

5. Mom knows best.

Whether you realize it or not, your mom does have your best intentions in mind. She has been your age before and knows how she acted then. Your mom wants nothing but the best for you, and she is going to do whatever it takes to get there.

6. Date a Dean.

Let's be honest, we all fell in love with Dean the second he helped Rory with her books in the hallway. That boy put her on a pedestal. Rory's first love gives us a very high expectation for boys.

7. Food is a really big deal.

Come on, who doesn't love food? Sookie is so passionate about her food that she goes to some pretty extreme measures to ensure that people are pleased by it. We can all relate because food is a vital part of our lives.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
