7 Things I Experienced at a Boy Band Concert

My experience at One Direction's show.

7 Things I Experienced at a Boy Band Concert

Attending a boy band concert is much different once you are past the age of 14. Here are some of the things that I experienced when I recently attended a One Direction Concert:

1. Preteens wearing homemade T-shirts and carrying oversized signs.

Nothing makes an overgrown fan-girl (me) more nostalgic than a large group of friends who have been preparing for this concert for months.

2. Moms drinking $12 beers.

A couple of mothers had to volunteer to supervise their children at this 1D show. The only way for a mother to make it out alive is for her to enjoy a drink with their fellow PTA friends!

3. 13-year-olds singing all the words to “Trap Queen” by Fetty Wap.

Before the show began, music from artists such as Five Seconds of Summer blasted through the stadium. When “Trap Queen” played, all the preteens and concert goers sang the words, leaving me both confused and amused!

4. Dads rolling their eyes.

Harry Styles even had a CONVERSATION with a father, and when his face was on the big screen, he was still not amused. Needless to say, pretty much every father there did not actually want to be at that show.

5. Girls crying.

Yes, it is completely normal for fans to tear up or even breakdown when they catch a glimpse of Harry, Niall, Liam, or Louis!

6. Vendors selling fake tour shirts.

No, I do not want to purchase your homemade tie dye shirt with Harry’s face on it. Actually, meet me behind the stadium when my friends aren’t looking....

7. Overall, smiling faces.

Okay, so maybe some people were only excited because the show was over (dads), but most people experienced a fairy-tale night strictly because they were in the same arena as the One Direction boys. It does not matter how old you are, or if you’re a boy or girl, anybody can enjoy the magic of a boy band concert!!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
