Every day is a challenge; waking up with the knowledge that our world is rapidly disintegrating due to the hateful nature of our fellow man weighs heavy on everyone's hearts. Some say to turn to God, some just ignore it all, but I say we need to learn how to love; we didn't lose our way because God isn't in our lives, we lost our way because our hearts are overrun with pure hate.
1. Violence doesn't solve violence.
With everything going on today, the shootings, the murders, the riots, and everything in between no one seems to notice a pattern. All of the violence that's spreading is only spawning more violence; this is solving nothing.
2. The media is not our ally.
Personally, I don't even watch the news because of the lies and fabrications that it spreads, but that doesn't mean no one else does. What is the media's job? Their job is to boost their ratings, to gain more viewers, and to get the story no matter who it hurts along the way. In the media's point of view, the wrong person can be the victim and the right person could be dead.
3. Inequality is everywhere.
Actually, I have nothing to add. This quote says it all.
4. Our "leaders" have done nothing to help.
So much for having leaders who vow to protect our nation. We the people, we're the greatest percentage; we populate the earth and we're destroying this earth that isn't even our property. Our ancestors created this nation with dreams of freedom, equality, and the power of choice; they're turning in their graves as we speak.
5. Riots, movements, and hashtags.
Everyone nowadays is, "afraid of becoming the next hashtag" so they throw bricks through windows, start fires, and break everything in sight. What are fixing as while we're breaking the town?
6. Social media has turned into a race war.
Social media used to be an outlet for adolescent teens that was actually theirs. It used to be something that parents wanted to monitor; it was a way to use naughty language and keep up with friends. In today's day and age, as soon as you click on that app the first thing you see is race issues, racial memes, news stories about one race killing another. The last time I checked it was 2016, I thought we were supposed to have moved on from things like this, but lately it feels like we've traveled back in time.
7. WE ARE OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM.
Division, that's the best word to describe our nation today, but why? I'll tell you why, it's because none of us can come together and fight as one solitary group. If we want the world to change, then we have to change, but until we realize that we will forever be blind.
