Cellar Thursdays will never be forgotten

TCU and the surrounding area is always changing. As upperclassman, we have experienced a lot of things the younger students will never be able to.

1. Karaoke Thursdays at Cellar

Cellar was one of the best bars around TCU. Every Thursday you could expect a line out the door because students couldn't get enough of Karaoke night. The indoor/outdoor bar was great for any time of year. The bar tragically and suddenly closed, leaving TCU students mourning. The worst part of it all is where the building used to stand is now just a planter.

2. Spending countless nights of freshman year at Lab

The Science Lab, or Lab for short, was the go to bar for freshman back in the day. It was close and convenient. The bar lacked class to say the least, but we all have some great memories or regrets of nights spent at Lab.

3. Our incredible 2014 football season

We broke into the Top 10 for multiple weeks, ended the season with a 12-1 record, and destroyed Ole Miss in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. We were underestimated at the beginning of the season and proved a lot of people wrong. I can't forget to mention the incredible win against Oklahoma, who was ranked 4 and we were ranked 25, and storming the field with the rest of the TCU student body.

4. Having the Greek not under construction

With the new Greek houses being built, the Greek seems like it has been under construction forever. We remember the days that you used to be able to park there and easily walk to any house without blockades or fences.

5. Polliwogs from Bottom

The Polliwog is the drink that Bottom is known for. The contents of the delicious, slushy drink may never be revealed, but that didn't stop it from being a crowd favorite.

6. Wednesday night bowling

Students used to head over to City View Lanes on Wednesday nights for the $1 beer and good times bowling. Some people came to bowl, while some people just came to socialize. Some weeks it was so packed with TCU students that you couldn't even get a lane. I don't know why this trend died, but we should definitely bring it back.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
