7 Things To Add To Your Summer Bucket List
The Power of Dance

It's finally that time of year. The most wonderful time of the year, and I'm not talking about the winter holiday season. It's summer and schools out. It's time to take a long, much deserved break. Summer can be dull, but if you're doing it right, you have a list of things you want to do before heading back to school in the fall. Here are some things you should add to your list to make summer 2k16 the best one yet.

1. Go somewhere you've never been before.

Everyone loves adventure and summer is the perfect time for adventure. Whether it be a new place anywhere in the world or a new place in your hometown, go somehwere you haven't been and take it all in.

2. Make your own ice cream.

Get creative this summer. Why spend money on ice cream when you can just make some yourself. Here are some recipes that can get you started.

3. Have a movie marathon literally all day.

When was the last time you literally just layed in bed or on the couch and watched movies nonstop? There are probably a ton of movies you've wanted to watch, but you've just been so caught up with school that you haven't been able to. Grab some popcorn and take a day to relax.

4. Run a lemonade stand.

Bring out your inner child and try to make some money. Yeah, it might be weird. Yeah, no one will probably buy lemonade from you. Just take it as an excuse to sit outside on a nice day and look ridiculous while drinking a nice cool beverage.

5. Climb a 14er.

Or if you've already done this, try climbing all the 14ers in your state. There's probably one or two that you've always wanted to do. Go out and do it.

6. Road trip.

This is probably already on your list. I mean, whose list is this not on? But you should probably put it on your list again as extra motivation to actually go on a road trip.

7. Pretend to be a tourist in your hometown.

You probably see them around, but you make fun of them. Well, take a day and spend it in their shoes. Take pictures of literally everything and go all out. Bonus points for the sunscreen on the nose.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
