It's that time of the year again: midterms. They sadly happen to take place in my favorite month of the semester, October. Outside is gorgeous, the leaves are changing to beautiful yellows and reds, it's sweater weather, and Thanksgiving is just around the corner. It's a wonderful month, but it's also the month of hades. Midterm paper here, huge exam there, group projects everywhere. They just sneak up on you, like they do every year and your stress level is at an all-time high. Following are the many stress inducing stages of midterms week, enjoy.
1. Denial and Procrastination: Of course, I don't have three 100-question exams, two 6-page papers, and a group project…what are you talking about?
2. Freak Out: Why did I neglect studying? What am I going to do? I can't fail, I can't!
3. Cramming: I have 48 hours to write two papers and study for this midterm. I will run out of coffee, and I will become stuck to this desk in the library.
4. Crying: The stress is getting to me. I don't know if I can do this anymore.
5. Binge Eating: At this point I might as well eat. Food will make me feel better, right?
6. Actually Doing Your Work: It's time to get down to business. You got this; I believe in you.
7. Sleeping: You've stayed up for hours, and you've finished all of your work. Midterms week is over, and now it's time to catch up on your sleep.
