Music. Everyone has their own personal taste when it comes to listening to songs. However, I think there are a select few that never fail to make people feel pumped up and just in an overall better mood. Whenever I need a pick me up, I turned to Pandora or other sites that will let me loudly listen to these jams. These are just a few of my personal favorites. Yet, I highly suggest everyone give these songs a listen at least once in their life.

7. Drops of Jupiter- Train

Even though this song came out a few years ago, it never fails to make me smile. The accompaniment is great and the lyrics are unique but wonderful. It makes you want to find your passions in life. Besides who doesn't like things mentioned in it like: deep fried chicken or your best friend always sticking up for you?

6. I Wanna Dance with Somebody- Whitney Houston

I don't know what it is about this song but every single time it comes on I have to move around and jam out to it. This track is just completely upbeat and is a great excuse to start dancing. Any clouds of grey seem to fade when you play this great song by the talented Whitney Houston.

5. Mr. Brightside- The Killers

This tune is always one I will sing loudly and obnoxiously, especially while driving in traffic. It might not have the happiest of lyrics but it is super catchy. I love everything about it from the vocals, to the accompaniment, and the music video is quite interesting as well.

4. We Didn't Start the Fire- Billy Joel

Billy Joel is forever one of the greatest artists in the Rock & Roll genre. Although this isn't my favorite one of his songs, this track will get you yelling the lyrics and will make you move. Learning all the lyrics was one of the best challenges I made myself accomplish. It is both historical and improves your mood.

3. Come on Eileen- Dexys Midnight Runners

Okay, so I might only understand the words in the chorus but that doesn't stop me from turning my volume up on this song. Plus, almost everyone knows this popular hit.

2. Valerie- Amy Winehouse

Even though she died at a young age, Amy Winehouse sang some well known and memorable songs. Her voice is unlike many females, it almost has a 50's vibe to it. This song just has a great sound and even better lyrics.

1. Hey Jude- The Beatles

"Take a sad song and make it better." The Beatles are one of the greatest bands that ever existed. Hey Jude is a perfect song to make the worst of days turn around and the lyrics really touch your heart. It starts of with an easy rhythm then after a few minutes it bursts into some happy "na na na na's" along with Paul McCartney's amazing scat skills.

I could make this list go on and on forever, but these select few songs never fail to put a smile on my face. I hope if you are unfamiliar with them you take the time to listen to these hits. Perhaps, send them to someone who desperately needs some light in their life.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
