I don't know about you, but the first thing I'm doing when preparing for a new phase of life or a new adventure is to plan out the tunes I'm taking along with me. But what I think often seems underrated are the classic songs that can get you out of any funk and hype you up for a day in a new place. So without further ado, here are five of my favorite classic songs that should be on your Spring Break 2018 playlist, no matter where you're going (and no matter how old the songs are)!
1. Send Me On My Way - Rusted Root
Even though you can't really understand any of the words that the artist is singing, this song is all about journeys and friendship. What more could you ask for? Plus, with the uplifting and catchy beat, you won't be able to stop yourself from car dancing while on your long road trip.
2. Good Old Days - Macklemore (feat. Kesha)
This song is essential because it reminds you to appreciate the present and savor each and every moment because sooner or later you'll look back and remember those "good old days." It also tells you to live boldly and with no regrets, which is something everyone going on vacation should remember!
3. Hotel California - The Eagles
This is a classic rock anthem that should be on every playlist. The epic guitar solo at the end makes it great for turning up the volume and rocking out, no matter where you are!
4. Nine In the Afternoon - Panic! At the Disco
This older Panic! song is all about partying all night long, which is a good mantra to live by during your spring break this year. Let loose and have fun!
5. Going, Going, Gone - The Posies
This is a great track that I first heard in the "Reality Bites" movie soundtrack, but as illustrated by the title, it is all about movement and journeys. What could be more appropriate for a trip?
6. Location - Khalid
Enough said!
7. Dancing In The Moonlight - Toploader
This tune epitomizes partying all night long! Could there possibly be a better end to a great spring break than dancing under the stars and celebrating under the moonlight?
I hope you enjoyed these few playlist recommendations. Always remember these classics for no matter where you're going, and most importantly, make some memories this spring break! Let these songs remind you to refresh, take a break, live with no regrets, and have the time of your life!
