Please address the growing problem of poorly thought out lyrics. This is plaguing the music industry and the ears of millions of people every day. Save lyricists and listeners everywhere by raising awareness.
"I'm A Mess" by Ed Sheeran
"Put your faith in my stomach."
Okay, Ed. You've clearly proved you're a mess with that one. And it might also be worth noting that putting faith in a stomach is not only a gross image but also complete nonsense.
"Stitches" by Shawn Mendes
"Needle and the thread,
Gotta get you out of my head
Needle and the thread,
Gonna wind up dead"
Clearly there is a reference to actual stitches. However, stitches are not going to help get her out of your head, Shawn. Also, death might be taking it a little far, don't you think?
"Ex's and Oh's" by Elle King
"I had a summer lover down in New Orleans
Kept him warm in the winter, left him frozen in the spring"
Sorry, but maybe you should double check your seasons there, Elle. Summer is not the same season as winter. If you loved him in the summer but kept him warm in the winter, he clearly wasn't a summer lover. There are some mixed signals here.
"Trap Queen" by Fetty Wap
"It's big ZooWap from the bando, without dinero I can't go"
Uh, what? "Dinero" is Spanish for "money." Can someone translate the rest, please? Where are you going, Fetty?
"Drag Me Down" by One Direction
"I got a river for a soul and baby you're a boat
Baby, you're my only reason"
It really is a good attempt at a metaphor, but explain the logic here, please. The river and boat connection makes sense, but the girl and soul connection to the river and boat has everyone confused.

"This hit
That ice cold
Michelle Pfeiffer
That white gold"
Bruno and Mark, where is this going? Was Michelle Pfeiffer drinking and singing a hit song while wearing white gold jewelry? Were phrases drawn out of a hat that just happened to rhyme?
"How Deep Is Your Love" by Calvin Harris ft. Disciples
"Is it like the ocean?
What devotion? Are you?"
Someone has many, many questions, and clearly very few answers. I'm also noticing a trend with incomplete sentences. How are the questions supposed to be answered if there's just no understanding what the question is in the first place?
