7 Signs You're Definitely A Teacher

For those of you in the education field, you know there's a certain personality that teachers have. You also know that looking in the school supply section at any store brings you an indescribable joy. So, friends, here are signs that definitely show you're a teacher.

RELATED: Why I Want To Be A Lutheran School Teacher

1. You're constantly on the lookout for things for your classroom.

The first question you ask when you come across anything in a store is, "How can I use this in my classroom?" Because, as all teachers know, anything can be a classroom material if you believe hard enough!

2. You get way too excited when buying school supplies.

Look at all the choices! Notebooks, folders, binders, pens, pencils. Yes, I do need that set of 15 felt pens. Do I have a whiteboard? Nope, but I'm totally gonna buy these neon Expo markers anyway.

3. You're trying to build your classroom library by any means possible.

Passing a garage sale? Let's go see if they have any books I can use. Got a lot of friends on Facebook? Let's subtly plead for free books they don't want anymore. But seriously, garage sales, library sales, thrift stores, and Scholastic book sales will be your best friends.

4. You totally think Pinterest should offer professional development credits.

I just spent 2 hours pinning math ideas, what do you mean I don't get credit for this? Speaking of Pinterest, you totally have your classroom planned out on there.

5. Teachers Pay Teachers is literally a godsend.

Need an impromptu syllable lesson? Teachers Pay Teachers! Need new labels for your classroom library? TPT! Have a wicked awesome lesson plan aligned to Common Core you want to share? TPT!

6. You and your teacher friends are constantly texting lesson ideas back and forth.

"Ms. U, look at this beautiful worksheet I found! Won't this be a fantastic activity to teach the main idea?" This is the norm for texting conversations between teachers.

7. You kept every single education textbook from your college classes.

Those general education books were rented or bought used and then sold back. But your education ones? Those were new and are never leaving your sight.

So, no matter if you are an education student or a veteran teacher, we all think alike!

P.S. If you want to support local teachers, check out Donors Choose. This is a way you can donate to fund projects that teachers want to bring to their classrooms, anything from school supplies to field trips. Check it out!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
