Everyone knows the old saying, a dog is man’s best friend. But until you have a dog of your own, you don’t really realize how true this saying is. I have had a dog my whole life. I have an adorable yellow lab named Parker who is the most upbeat six year old you will ever meet. In honor of his seventh birthday coming up in just two short weeks, I have decided to dedicate this article to him and all dogs and dog owners out there. Dogs are the best and most loyal friends you will ever be blessed to have. The bond between a dog and their owner is absolutely undeniable. Here are a few signs that your dog is you number one best friend!
1. You take the absolute cutest selfies!
In the age of social media it is definitely important to take lots and lots of selfies with your friends. I mean if you didn’t selfie during it…did you even hang out with your friends? Being able to get your dog to pose for a selfie is definitely a sign of true friendship.
2. You try to share food…but it doesn’t always work.
Unfortunately dogs can’t eat a lot of human food, so sharing isn’t always the easiest thing. But you definitely try your best!
3. Sometimes you get mad at each other…but after a few hours you move past it.
Maybe someone forgot to feed their buddy on time, or maybe they stepped on your feet and ate your shoes…whatever the case may be, fights are bound to happen. But at the end of the day, you can’t stay mad for long and pretty soon you’re back to playing nonstop.
4. You miss each other constantly when you’re not together.
Especially when leaving for school or for a long vacation, goodbyes are the worst. You may even find yourself sleeping near your best friend’s bed and moping because they aren’t there to play with you.
5. FACETIME SESSIONS!

6. You have more pictures of your dog on your phone then anyone else.
No seriously, you can probably make multiple collages just from pictures taken this week.
7. They are you’re favorite person to cuddle with!
No matter what, your dog will always be there for you with open arms and ready to give you as much love and cuddles as you need. Especially when you are having a rough day, nothing is better than coming home to your best friend and cuddling with them all night long.
So here’s a big thank you to all the dogs out there. Keep doing you! Keep being awesome! We love you!
