Having a boyfriend means more than just receiving a good morning or goodnight text. Our society has taken the meaning of love and turned it around completely. Love isn't about caring or compassion, it's now about "woman crush Wednesdays" or who can post the cutest picture together. Being in a relationship is more about what's publicized on social media.

Romance has dwindled in many cases, but if you're lucky enough to find a guy who does even a few of these things, he's definitely a keeper.

1. Going on cute dates

Going on a date doesn't mean spending a ton of money or going on some impossible mission to recreate a Pinterest idea. A date with someone you care about can be as simple as driving to the beach, watching a movie at home or cooking a nice dinner. The little things show how much you mean to someone, and a simple date is a great way to express how much you care.

2. Surprising her with flowers or her favorite candy

Again, something as simple as surprising your girl with a cute bouquet or her favorite candy is a great way to show you care. Small gifts like this will brighten your girls day, and will certainly put a smile on her face.

3. Bringing her around your friends

As odd as this may sound, bringing your girlfriend out with your friends means a lot. It shows that your friends are accepting of the relationship and that they are willing to create a friendship with her as well. Something as simple as this can mean the world to your girlfriend because it shows that you care enough to allow you and your friends to be together.

4. Supporting each other through everything

This could be a tough decision, or something as easy as choosing where to go for dinner. Supporting ideas and decisions is the key to building happiness. If your girlfriend is happy, everyone is happy. Supporting your girlfriend's decisions shows that you will be there through it all ready to back her up.

5. Remembering stories she tells you

Remembering the little things will make your girlfriend's day. Your girl may go on about a million topics at once, but if you can remember the details of what she says, it'll be sure proof that you care about what she has to say.

6. Her parents adore you

This may be the most important thing to ensure that you're a keeper. It's not always easy to achieve, but if your girlfriend's parents like you, you've done something right. Impressing her parents is almost as important as impressing her, so be sure to have respect and don't be afraid to show how much you care about their daughter in front of them.

7. Telling her how much she means to you

This may seem like another obvious thing to do, but I mean really telling her how much she means to you. Expressing your feelings to your girlfriend shows that you aren't afraid to break your "manliness" every once in a while to tell her how much she means to you.

If you have a guy that does these things for you, he's for sure a keeper. Not every day a guy who is amazing enough to care for you more than he cares for himself comes along, but if he does, be sure to never let him go.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
