A mansion filled with a hundred of your closest friends? What's not to like?

7 Reasons Why Living In Your Sorority House Is The Best
Brittany Bakkum

As the days get hotter and August draws nearer, I can barely contain my excitement I have to be back at Purdue living in a house with nearly a hundred of my favorite people. Living in my sorority house was one of the greatest decisions in my college career so far. Some may think that living in a house with 90 other girls is crazy, and it is, but it is what keeps college interesting and fun.

1) You get to live in a mansion.

Since I’m not considering a life in the Playboy industry, this is the only time in my life that I get to live in a huge, nice house with my closest girl friends. Having a bunch of screaming girls right down the hall from you 24-7 doesn’t necessarily sound like a blast, but it actually is. When again in your life will you be able to live in a huge mansion? It will take a lot of hard work after graduation to be able to live in a house that size again. Take advantage of having one of the prettiest housing set ups on campus and live in.

2) You are in the same place as your best friends, all day every day.

Yeah the dorms could’ve had all your close friends in it, but living in your sorority house means having all your sisters within arms reach. Your sisters are your closest friends, and you share a stronger bond. Having everyone under the same roof makes you truly like a family. If you live in the house, you always have someone who will go out with you, someone who will study with you, someone who will eat poorly with you, someone who will gossip with you, or anything else you can think of.

3) You get to live with your little.

Your little is the most perfect person on this planet. What could be better than living with her? Absolutely nothing! Living with your little is the greatest because you get closer than ever and realize that she is even more perfect than you ever thought possible. It makes crafting gifts for her future little even more fun and exciting too.

4) Food, food, and more food.

Did I mention there would be food. When I wake up, breakfast is out. Then lunch is served to me when I come home from classes. And then dinner is served to me. No buying groceries, or struggling to decide on a place to go out to eat. It's all right there in front of you every day. And I never, ever, have to do dishes.

5) 90 girls means 90 closets to raid.

Living in a house with several other girls means you have endless clothing and jewelry options and plenty of fashion advice from your sisters. No need to go a day or a night out “with nothing to wear” just hop on down the hall and do some window shopping.

7) You can easily transition from the dance floor at a frat house to your bed.

If Greek housing at your school is set up like Purdue’s, then you’re neighbors with every other Greek organization on campus. This proximity is a big plus on the weekends when you’re hanging out in fraternity houses. Living in a Greek row is like a whole little neighborhood away from campus. All you need to do is cross the street, climb some stairs and collapse in bed.

8) House moms are the best.

I’m not like a regular mom, I’m a cool mom. But seriously, house moms are the best. You can call them whenever you need to, and they’re s’cute and sweet that you love them just like your actual mom. They've seen you at your worst, just like mom back home, and never judge you for it.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
