In Chicago, we have only two seasons; summer and winter. There is 3 weeks of spring and 3 weeks of autumn in between. Before Chicago gets drown in what feels like 7 tons of snow, those few weeks of autumn are amazing. Here are 7 reasons why;
1. Oversized, knitted sweaters!
Also leggings, leggings are amazing. Fall is the only acceptable time I can (and will) spend an obscene amount of money on sweaters and leggings. Protip: if you want bigger (and sometimes warmer) sweaters, get them from the guy's section!!
2. The color of the leaves change!
The change of the leaves makes me so unbelievably happy! And the sound of leaves crunching under my boots. Its practically my childhood coming back to me. But it's socially unacceptable for a grown woman to jump in every pile of leaves she sees so we'll just admire them from afar.
3. All the bugs die.
Probably my favorite reason as well. I hate bugs and I hate killing them because I'm scared of anything that crawls and can fly in my face.
4. PSL
Shout out to the Starbucks Corporation and the beautiful creator of the Pumpkin Spice Latte (with soy milk of course, because I'm lactose intolerant). If you want a PSL, have a PSL and enjoy it. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
5. All the rain
I don't know about you, but I love rain. It's so soothing and with the right cup of tea and show at night is the perfect combo.
6. All the shows are back!
Grey's Anatomy, How To Get Away With Murder, Scandal!! Hello cute doctors and badass lead women, goodbye my social life!
7. Pups in sweaters
Just please look how happy that corgi is. It's great. It's wonderful.
