Going to school in St. Louis is the best! There is never a shortage of activities to partake in and there’s always a new place to go exploring. Being in St. Louis provides endless opportunities for students in school and allows them to make the most of their college years! Here’s to you, St. Louis!

1. There are tons of free activities

Being in college means being strapped for cash which is why it’s nice that St. Louis is home to countless free activities spread throughout the city. Forest Park is home to the Science Center, Zoo, Art Museum and History Museum and that is only a portion of the city where there are free activities. Heading downtown is also an easy way to find free or cheap activities to take part in.

2. There is no shortage of places to eat

St. Louis is home to hundreds of local restaurants spread throughout the city and the county. Students can head down to the loop, downtown, Tower Grove, St. Charles, Kirkwood or countless other places to find unique local restaurants.

3. There is nature and the city

Being in a city can usually mean that there is nowhere to go out and explore but that’s not the case in St. Louis. There are numerous national and state parks located on the outskirts of St. Louis as well as numerous city parks including Forest Park, the seventh largest urban park in the United States. Castlewood State Park is home to beautiful bluffs that overlook Meramec River and is only a 45-minute drive from downtown St. Louis.

4. St. Louis is the perfect sports city

Home to the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, St. Louis boasts a pride for their teams that is second to none. The atmosphere on game day can break down even the biggest hater of sports. This is a perfect opportunity for students to get involved in the city and spend quality time with friends and fellow sports’ fans alike.

5. Coffee Shops galore

You can hardly go down any street without finding a Starbucks, Kaldi’s or another local coffee shop. This is a huge perk for college students who often frequent coffee shops. There’s always a new place to explore and new coffee to try while relaxing with friends or working on homework.

6. Concerts always come to STL

With so many venues in the St. Louis area there is always some concert or music event going on during the weekends. Whether it’s seeing Mumford & Sons at Scottrade Center, Needtobreathe at Chaifetz Arena, Tori Kelly at the Pageant or Panic! At the Disco at the Verizon Amphitheatre, there are always new concerts with big name artists or local bands popping up in the St. Louis area.

7. Shopping is available everywhere and for every price range

This can be dangerous for college students who are living on a budget but there is no shortage of finding places to shop. Whether you’re going to the Galleria, West County Center, Chesterfield Mall, Frontenac, Union Station or the outlets in the Chesterfield Valley there is something for everyone.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
