As Independence Day rolls around each year, you may find yourself struggling to find fun ways to celebrate it. Going out of town can be impractical, and nothing is better than the comfort of your own home. Fireworks, picnics, barbecues, or day-long excursions are definitely the best way to go for those who are planning a stay-cation, and luckily, the metro Atlanta area has a variety of events for every type of celebration. If you don’t already have traditions of your own, there are some fireworks shows you can check out around town this holiday such as the food trucks at Duluth Green Town, Cumming Fairgrounds, or Country Club of Roswell. However, if you are looking for something unforgettable, here are some of the grandest displays Atlanta has to offer!

1. Stone Mountain Park Activities And Laser Show

Stone Mountain offers a large variety of daytime attractions including their Summit Skyride, the SkyHike, the Geyser Towers obstacle course, their museums and so much more! If you stick around for the evening, you can grab a spot on the field and have a picnic while waiting for the Laser Show Spectacular in Mountainvision® to begin! The show includes drones, flames, iconic music, special lighting effects, special Fourth of July fireworks and a gorgeous view of the Confederate Memorial carving.

2. Lake Lanier Islands Special Events And Fireworks

Aside from their thrilling waterpark, Lake Lanier hosts special events such as volleyball, live music, dining specials and of course, a fireworks show. The firework display over the large body of water is a breathtaking sight you definitely don’t want to miss!

3. Peachtree Road Race And Fireworks At Lenox Square

The Peachtree Road Race is the perfect way to begin your holiday morning! Participant selection is limited, but many people make it

a tradition to volunteer at the race or to watch and encourage the runners as they pass by. Lenox Mall also offers one of the largest Fourth of July shows in the Southeast! With over 10,000 fireworks, delicious food and special performances by Sons of Sailors and Party on the Moon, your stay-cation may not be so bad after all!

4. Independence Day Fireworks At Turner Field

Since this is the Atlanta Braves’ last year in this large stadium, their final celebration here is sure to be phenomenal! This

holiday, the Braves will play the Colorado Rockies. Before the game, there will be a special military tribute, Columbus Air Force Base will fly over and Corey Smith will be singing the national anthem. If you are a baseball fan, one last Fourth of July at Turner Field is perfect for you!

5. Fireworks And Entertainment At Centennial Park

Due to the park’s popularity and size, Centennial Park hosts the largest fireworks display in the entire Southeast. These fireworks are exceptional, and you won’t want to miss special performances by Montell Jordan and J-Fly!

6. Star Spangled Fourth At Mall Of Georgia

Along with a marvelous fireworks show, Mall of Georgia is

bringing in guest star Mallory Wilson to sing the national anthem. For younger kids, the movie “Ants Trippin” will be playing, and following that, the movie, “Woody’s” will play right before the show. After the show, there will be a late night showing of “Mockingjay – Part 2.” For an outdoor movie experience on a 70-foot large screen in addition to incredible fireworks, be sure to check out Mall of Georgia this Independence Day!

7. Fireworks And Fun At Wills Park

Wills Park in Alpharetta provides a perfect area for a picnic with family and friends, with a beautiful fireworks display in the evening. There is also music, Kona Ice, and a playground for children to enjoy. Although the firework display at Wills Park may seem smaller in comparison to the others, this option is perfect for those who despise large crowds and long drives!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
