7 People That Get On Your Nerves

Let's face it, even the people who are closest to you have one side of them that makes you wonder why you hang out with them. Grr... (Inner peace, inner peace) Anyways, here are some of the annoying people I have been dealing with the past month:

The one that doesn't study and keeps remarking "I'm gonna fail."

Dear person who should be studying since the test was assigned a week ago,

Guess what, you are going to fail. You refused to put in the least amount of effort to open up the study guide that's been given to you many days before the assessment.

Oh yeah, and I have no intention of letting you "borrow" my notes for the quiz that I've been working on for hours and hours that you seem to have "lost".

The Haughty One

People who I wish would lower their chins a little down and become at least 2% more humble. When you talk to them, they make it seem like talking to you is a waste of time, and they know that they're making it awkward for you (which makes it a hundred times more annoying). Their attitudes vary—from less haughty and over the clouds haughty. In my observations, they seem to enjoy surrounding themselves with people who they could benefit from.

The Honey Bee

You're having a good conversation with this person—about classes, teachers, and sometimes even people. You close your eyes for one second and look around you. She's gone. Take another look around, and there she is. Talking and laughing with another person. She seems to have not found the conversation amusing but you don't mind. You turn around and see her with someone else. To me, she seems like a honey bee giving just a bit of pollen to everyone of her little "flowers" one by one.

The Loud Chewer

Dear Chewer,

Munch, munch, blub, nyab—how does one express those disturbing chewing noises in writing? My appetite falls right down that bottomless pit when I eat with people who have loud chews.

The one that acts smart all the time

These people constantly give me life advice that I have no intention of listening to. Outside, they make it seem like they're an all A student that has his or her life together, but deep down, you know they're one of the most disorganized and untrustworthy person in the world.

The Messy One

This is coming from a person who is in fact not the most cleanest, neatest person in the world. But even the average neat person gets annoyed with the people who pay no attention to the clumps of paper in their bags or the trash on the table. It's especially annoying when you're the one who ends up having to clean it up. To those messy people—let's clean up after our own mess.

The Fake One

This one's self explanatory. These people are so nice and generous to you when you're alone with just the two of you, but once that person meets other people they're close to, their attitudes suddenly make you really irritated. They talk to you when they're in need of something, when they have no one to talk to, and when you suddenly start talking to their friends.

But yay! I don't get to see these people for a week! (Thanksgiving Break) I hope y'all have a great Thanksgiving Break and hopefully you'll come back with better attitudes, habits, and personalities!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
