Being a college student means that between all those hours of studying, your free time is mostly enveloped around binge-watching television shows on Netflix. As a young adult in this day and age, that's what we all mostly do — briefly escape from reality for hours at a time, watching the broad spectrum of shows that Netflix has to offer. Here are a few Netflix shows that you've probably never heard of or might've glanced over:
1. "Narcos"
A show that follows two DEA agents in Colombia who are trying to track down and capture Pablo Escobar's famous drug cartel, this show is absolutely incredible. The tension in this show is so dramatic and holds you for the entirety of the hour-long episode, and at the conclusion it just makes you hungry for more. It's filled with dramatic surprises and twists at every turn, and it's overall just an incredibly filmed show. The show doesn't break immersion, either; all of the scenes with Pablo Escobar and his comrades are in Spanish (with subtitles, of course) that all help the plotline of the show. While many critics complain that the show relies on the subtitles, it would feel entirely different if the Colombian citizens spoke English, right? Either way, if you're looking for a show that is dramatic, action-packed and hooks you right from the start, "Narcos" is it.2. "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
Interested in something that's lighthearted, but still quick and witty? "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is just for you! This show, written by Tina Fey — so you already know it's going to be funny — is about a girl who is imprisoned by a cult leader for most of her life, who decides to move to New York in order to really experience it. The plot sounds a little out-there, but seeing Kimmy do all of these new, crazy things is hilarious on her take of it. Plus, the episodes are really short and are easy to watch when you don't have a ton of time!3. "Breaking Bad"
4. "Mad Men"
This show is a must-see classic. If you like vintage fashion, style and simply just the lifestyle of the people in the 1950s-1960s, then "Mad Men" will be your cup of tea. It centers around an advertising company in New York City, and the main character, Don Draper, is the brilliant man who leads it. The leading ladies are all very strong and prominent, featuring actresses Christina Hendricks, January Jones, Elizabeth Moss and Alison Brie.5. "Parks and Recreation"
6. "House of Cards"

7. "Daredevil"
While it is another Marvel superhero show, "Daredevil" is dark and grungy and is the total opposite of what every other Marvel show is like. It centers around the character of the same name — Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer who has started a firm with his best friend, Foggy, and they try to solve the crimes around Hell's Kitchen. The show is fantastically superb and has an indescribable element that captures you from the very beginning.Have fun binge-watching this semester!
