There's something important you should know about me: I love sad movies. And when I say I love sad movies, I am not exaggerating. If you saw my Google search history when I’m in the mood to watch a movie then you’d find every synonym for the word sad followed by the words "movies on Netflix." No lie. I have loved them ever since I was a little kid. When a movie is good enough to make me cry then I know it’s good. So with all the years I’ve lived (not that many) and with the access to glorious websites like Netflix, you could basically call me a sad movie connoisseur. So here I am to share my knowledge with you. Here is a list of my top seven favorite tearjerkers. Whenever you’re in the mood to cry your pretty little eyes out these are the essentials:
1. "Dying Young" (1991)
This a pretty solid film. It stars Julia Roberts who is down on her luck and gets hired to become a caregiver to a wealthy cancer stricken young man. Naturally, romance ensues. This movie will pull at your heartstrings. Julia Roberts is phenomenal, as usual. And if you want to cry this movie it a good start.
2. "My Girl" (1991)
This might seem like an obvious choice, because who hasn’t seen this Macauley Culkin classic?! Even if you have seen it, it’s still a real gem. Something about the innocence that comes with Vada and Thomas J’s friendship is refreshing. Even though the film deals with some dark subject matter, it still has a freshness to it that will have you smiling along. Which makes the punch so much stronger in the end. Definitely a must see.
5 ) Bright Star (2009)

2 ) The Man In The Moon (1991)
1 ) Atonement (2007)
This movie is not only #1 on my tearjerker list, but it’s probably the best movie I have ever seen. The story is so interesting and original. It will have you wanting to scream as well as cry as the twisted story unfolds. It centers around a family on the eve of WWII, when a terrible lie is told because of one girl’s young misunderstandings that completely changes the course of the lives of those around her. Definitely a must-watch even if you're not just wanting to cry.
If you haven’t seen these movies then you need to stop what you’re doing and watch them immediately. But make sure you have a box of tissues and lots of popcorn. Then press play and be prepared to be emotionally wrecked.

4 ) Charlie St. Cloud (2010)
