7 Life Lessons Learned from Louis Stevens

If you didn't already know, "Even Stevens" is practically the best TV show Disney ever created. I personally loved (and still love) the Stevens family because they remind me a lot of my own family: quirky and weird. And quirky and weird families are the best kind! I always adored Louis Stevens because of his unique personality and take on life. Here are 7 life lessons from Louis Stevens.

1. Be conscious of what you eat

Just like Louis here, I love chocolate. But a little too much of a wonderful and delicious thing can go straight to your butt. So, watch it buddy, before you end up like Louis.

2. Ask the hard questions in life

Louis gets it. He isn't afraid to ask the questions everyone is too afraid to ask, or too shallow to wonder.

3. Be confident

Louis is a smooth-talking, sly, son-of-a-gun. Take Louis's charm and you'll rule the world.

4. You only need a few very close friends in life who are as just as weird as you are

Louis has Twitty and Tawny. They love Louis for who he is and even join in on his mischievous shenanigans. Go out there and find your Twitty and Tawny!

5. Don't be afraid to try new things

Louis is an inventor and a risk-taker. Be more like him and always try new things in life -- even if some of them don't work out as planned.

6. Have imagination

An imaginative mind will get you far! Never stop using it!

7. Never stop being weird

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
