Seven Justin Bieber Lyrics That You'll Relate To

I have to admit, prior to first listening to the hit single “What Do You Mean?” I wouldn’t have called myself a fan of Justin Bieber. Although I used to be a die-hard Belieber (yes, I’m throwing it back to 2010 when the word "Belieber" was actually a thing), over the past few years I’ve drifted away from this pop sensation's music. Fast forward to November 13th, 2015, aka the date Justin released his latest studio album, and I can easily say that my inner fangirl is back again. For me, quality lyrics are crucial for a song to be considered great, and throughout his new album, Justin’s lyrics mix quality beats with relatable topics. Here are seven sets of lyrics from his latest album "Purpose" that most likely you can relate to!

  1. “Sometimes it's hard to do the right thing / When the pressure's coming down like lightning / It’s like they want me to be perfect / When they don't even know that I'm hurting” (from "I’ll Show You")

We’ve all been there, questioning whether or not we should do something. “Should I? Nahhhh. But ugh, I don’t know. I kinda want to... but would that be bad if I did? What will people think?” Sometimes when we’re under pressure from others, we tend not to focus on what the right thing to do is or what we truly want to do. Others expect us to act in a certain way, but sometimes our hearts aren’t really in it.\

2. “Been around a million stars / None of them shine brighter than you” ("No Sense")

There will always be that person in our lives who will always stand out against the rest. No matter how many people we meet in our lifespan, no one will ever compare to that one special person.

3. “Am I in love with you? / Or am I in love with the feeling?” ("The Feeling")

Story of my life. I’ve come across this problem many times since it’s hard to differentiate true feelings from not so real ones. Do I actually like him, or the idea of him? I can’t tell!

4. “I'm more than grateful for the time we spent, my spirit's at ease” ("Purpose")

Even if things didn’t work out in the end, we probably didn’t regret those intimate (or even non-intimate) moments with someone. It’s reassuring knowing that the time we spent with someone was well worth it.

5. “Blink of an eye, no goodbye” ("Been You")

Sadly in life, things come and go and sometimes we’re prepared whereas other times we’re not. One day we have everything and the next day we lose it all and we ask ourselves, “How can things change so quickly?”

6. “Like a permanent stain / Wishing I could just wash away" ("Been You")

There’s always that memory in the back of our minds that we somehow always think about. We tell ourselves to stop thinking about it but it’s physically impossible and it comes to the point where we wish we could just erase the entire memory so that we don’t have to dwell on it any longer. I’m sure we’ve all been there..

7. “Sometimes the heart can see what's invisible to the eye / All you gotta do is listen to your deepest feelings / They don't ever lie” ("Trust")

We all tend to not follow our hearts and instead follow what we perceive with our eyes. However, what we need to realize is that by trusting our deepest instincts or feelings, we’ll end up making the right choice. Although our eyes can be deceiving, our true emotions never are

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
