In honor of my Eagle Scout court of honor this weekend, and the camping trip I just got back from with a group of high school buddies, I’ve decided to make this one all about the big, wide world around us. Here are some great things to do while you’re enjoying the great outdoors.
1. Hiking
Whether it’s a quick jog around your campsite, or a multi-mile trek into the mountains, hiking is one of the best ways to say active and see the outdoors.
2. Fishing
While fishing isn’t for everyone, it can be a great way to unwind. And sometimes, you get dinner out of the process!
3. Building a Campfire
A campfire isn’t just a handy way to stay warm, but it makes for a nice show as the Sun goes down too. Also…
4. Cooking
You can use it for cooking! Roasting weenies over the fire isn’t just a time-honored tradition, but a great way to bond with friends and family.
5. Canoeing
Like hiking, canoeing is a great way to see nature, but from a whole different perspective.
6. Visiting the Locals
Sometimes the local life can be just as exciting! Go into town, look around some shops, and you never know what you’ll find.
7. Taking Pictures
Last, but not least, make sure you take lots of pictures to make all your friends and family jealous back home.
